Open “This computer” by default in file explorer

Open This computer by default in file explorer Windows

By default, on the Windows operating system, clicking the File Explorer icon in the taskbar opens Quick Access, which is a page containing several folders and recently used files.

If necessary, you can change the settings to open the This PC page by default for faster access to your profile folders, drives, and network locations.

For this:

  1. Open “Explorer” and go to the “View” tab.

  2. In the settings ribbon, click Options.
  3. In the “Folder Options” window that opens, in the “General” tab, in the “Open Explorer for” drop-down list, select “This PC”.
  4. Apply the changes and click OK.

As a result of the actions taken, when you start Explorer, the “This PC” folder will open.
